Strength & Conditioning
The philosophy behind this type of training is geared towards helping athletes increase their strength and overall conditioning of their bodies. Kids are introduced to age-appropriate weight training which provides a great foundation so they understand proper form and can gradually increase their weights as they get older. Teenagers (and young adults) are taught proper form for weight training — in addition to gaining a better understanding of how to “push” their bodies a little harder during training in order to increase lean muscle mass. An athlete needs strength in their upper body, CORE, and legs/glutes in order to have better control of their bodies – better performance. Therefore, the athletes who participate in this type of training will build strength (full body) in addition to conditioning the joints and ligaments that are in desperate need of attention. Weighted and functional exercises using cutting-edge equipment (see list below) are performed during training so the major muscles are worked – and the connective tissue is strengthened to provide additional support. This type of training not only helps to increase strength, but it also reduces an athlete’s risk of injury — and improves their balance, coordination, speed and CONFIDENCE! This training will get them ready for anything — so they are ahead of their competition. It’s a great way to cross-train during their sports season or to develop skill in the off-season.
!MPACT Training offers Strength & Conditioning in a few ways:
1) You can book One-on-One Training so you (or your child or teen) gets individualized attention. First we evaluate the athlete to outline their strengths, as well as any weaknesses they may have – then we create a customized training program accordingly. We use cutting-edge equipment (see list below) to help them get strengthen and condition their bodies through a variety of weight-bearing exercises and functional movements. These sessions last one-hour and are by appointment only.
2) You can find a small group of friends or team-mates to train together as part of our Semi-Private Training Program. There is a minimum of 3 participants and a maximum of 6. You gain the benefits of working with a personal trainer at a fraction of the cost for One-on-One Training. And again, this session would be customized to meet the needs of the athletes. These sessions last one hour and are by appointment only.
3) KIDS Training or Elite Athlete Training These are training sessions we offer every week as part of our Group Training Program (50 minutes each session). We offer these training sessions several times throughout the week at a variety of times – so check out our Monthly Training Schedule (located at the bottom of our home page) to see if any of these training sessions match your schedule. These training sessions provide athletes with a combination of strength & conditioning along with speed & agility — and since this is part of our Group Training Program, it is a great way to work with one of our Personal Trainers at a fraction of the cost for One-on-One Training. You also have the convenience of having these training sessions offered several times per week – so no appointment is necessary. You can sign up to come once per week or take advantage of our Monthly Unlimited Training and come as often as you like for ONE PRICE. And during these training sessions, we use the same cutting-edge equipment as we do for One-on-One Training and Semi-Private Training.
